A Closer Look into 2014 San Diego Wedding Trends
As we move further into the New Year, we are getting even more excited about 2014 wedding trends! Delving deeper from our last blog, here are some current wedding trends that have already made an appearance in our 2014 client design and florist meetings:
• Sprinkles of Glitz and Sparkle – sequins, gold and metallic!
We’re even seeing champagne bottles wrapped in crystals; a perfect splash of sparkle on your Sweetheart Table that can be kept as a fun keepsake on your soon-to-be home “wedding shelf.”
• Wedding Dresses with Texture and Color – not the usual.
It is becoming quite rare for us to see a true white wedding dress. Ivory and champagne dress colors have been most prominent, though we also see a hint of blush here and there. On the horizon for 2014, we hear that wedding dresses are pushing the boundaries of tradition. We will see more wedding dress colors; neutrals and pastels. We anticipate dresses with multiple tiers, peplum style, and other textures of lace, sequins, and flower and feather embellishments.
• Vintage and Rustic – exudes romance.
We love this style because it brings the old to new and embraces repurposing and reusing in creating an ambience. The vintage and rustic trend holds so many options – dusted color palettes, country wood furniture, anything with a sense of history. Add a fun old typewriter for your guests to spell out some wedding day wishes.
• Textured Cakes – a piece of art.
Lots of layers and 3D designs such as ruffles, oversized flowers, faux lace, and ribbed ribbon. Your cake becomes the highlight of the room.
