Best Valentine's Dinner in Del Mar
This year for Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend and I enjoyed KITCHEN 1540’s Yours & Mine dinner for two! The atmosphere was fun and cozy with romantic lighting, yellow suede chairs and red accent décor. When we arrived we were greeted by hostess Stephanie who walked us to our table. After we were seated our waiter Clyde welcomed us as well and inquired about our beverage preferences before he recommended drinks for us. Overall, the service was excellent. Every time a dish was brought out, different elements of the dish were described to us. It made you that much more excited to taste it!
As far as the food goes - it was definitely one of the most memorable Valentine’s meals I’ve ever eaten. The pre fixe menu offered a “Yours” option and a “Mine” option for the first four courses, which were followed by a dessert to share; I choose the Yours, so my boyfriend went with the Mine…

A single long stem rose was placed at my seat :)
Bread basket with a variety of French, olive, and onion bread.

MINE: Cipollini Velouté with black truffle, onion gelée, puffed gruyere

Everything was sooo delicious with incredible flavors and different from anything we’d ever had before! It was an exciting dinner and right up our alley; we’re definitely coming back. Seriously, if you’re not a foodie, a visit to KITCHEN 1540 just might turn you into one!
