As an employee, I mostly see the a behind the scenes of L'Auberge Del Mar, but over the weekend I was fortunate enough to observe the hotel & spa from a guest's point of view.
I experienced everything from dropping my car off at valet, to eating at Kitchen 1540, to spending the day at Spa L'Auberge. During my stay, we had a great room with beautiful views of the ocean. At dinner we felt daring and decided to try Kitchen 1540's White Flag menu. For those who have not had the chance to try this option let me elaborate on the experience. The server inquires on any food allergies or anything you absolutely WILL NOT eat, and the chef prepares numerous courses that are brought to your table until you absolutely CANNOT eat any more. I am not one to usually order something like barbequed pig's tail or hamachi, so this gave me the chance to try things I would have never even considered, and they were delicious! For those who are not as adventurous, like me, this option is perfect for you. You'll definitely surprise yourself and your taste buds! Breakfast was just as delicious. We had room service in the morning and I fell in love with the almond crusted French toast-- I highly recommend it! To add the cherry on top, I went to the spa for a nice relaxing day which included a fantastic facial from Monica and spending some time in the secluded, outside relaxation area to catch up on my Cosmo and decompress. Overall, I had fabulous weekend at L'Auberge Del Mar. A special thanks to all of the wonderful people I work with :)
