SAN DIEGO AREA CONCIERGES GET SNEAK PEAK AT KITCHEN 1540
The Buzz About The New Restaurant Is Reaching Locals And Visitors Alike
Del Mar, California (October 14, 2008) - With KITCHEN 1540's highly anticipated opening set for November 4, the restaurant at the newly renovated L'Auberge Del Mar hosted a "sneak peak" tasting event for area concierges recently. The event, organized by Where Magazine, welcomed 75 of San Diego's top concierges in an effort to "whet their appetites" for the restaurant's farm-to-table seasonal menu and introduce them to energized design that will feature seamless transitions from the bar to the dining room and outdoor patio.
Chef Paul McCabe, KITCHEN 1540's executive chef, treated the "in the know" guests to a sampling of some of his new creations, including the Pearl Martini, Foie Gras with organic blood orange poprocks and Lobster Corndogs. Guests also got to feast on an impromptu fashion show of the new uniforms for the restaurant, led by Chris Puffer, the property's Director of Food & Beverage outlets.
"We know that visitors rely on the recommendations of a good concierge when choosing a restaurant and their informed opinions are very important to us," said McCabe. "We were overwhelmed with their enthusiasm and positive comments about KITCHEN 1540."
The event was held at the pool and the new Bleu Bar, Del Mar's newest hot spot overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
KITCHEN 1540 was designed by renowned New York architect Andrew Kikoski and will offer guests an elegant and contemporary take on a classic coastal restaurant; with white vaulted ceilings; an open presentation kitchen; modern table settings; a private dining room wrapped in wine-encased glass walls; and an outside dining and lounge area. The al fresco experience offers private cabanas for intimate dining, a water wall, a fire pit to gather around and hanging lanterns to set just the right mood.
Located at L'Auberge Del Mar at 1540 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar, California, KITCHEN 1540 will open for dinner starting November 4. The restaurant will also serve breakfast and lunch beginning November 24. Complimentary validated parking is available.
