Del Mar Thoroughbred Club and Fairgrounds

Del Mar is nationally known for its racetrack, "Where The Turf Meets The Surf," and ever-popular thoroughbred-racing season from mid-July through early September plus a fall season in November. In June, the Fairgrounds become home to the San Diego County Fair where visitors can enjoy live music, carnival rides, and all of the sights and sounds of a regional fair.

San Diego Polo Fields

Founded in 1986, The San Diego Polo Club is an established institution recognized for excellence in the sport of polo. The club is beautifully situated on 60 acres of land in neighboring Rancho Santa Fe, offering five world-class class polo fields. The San Diego Polo Club has one of the longest playing seasons in the country running from May through October. Sunday Polo matches are presented to the public every Sunday, beginning at 1:00 pm.

San Diego Botanical Gardens 

The mission of the Garden is to inspire people of all ages to connect with plants and nature. With over 30 different gardens to choose from, this is the perfect place to explore many unique gardens and landscapes. 

Encinitas Tide Pools

Swami’s tide pools, at Swami’s Beach, is an extensive reef formation, which becomes visible as the tide recedes. The tide pools are a popular destination for children and families. 

San Diego Zoo

One of the area's most popular attractions, the 100-acre the San Diego Zoo is home to over 3,700 rare and endangered animals representing more than 650 species and subspecies, and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants.

San Diego Safari Park

Go on an African Safari just 30 minutes from L'Auberge Del Mar! The Safari Park is an expansive wildlife sanctuary that is home to more than 2,600 animals representing more than 300 species. Its renowned botanical collection represents 3,500 species and 1.5 million specimens. Over half of the Park's 1,800 acres have been set aside as protected native species habitat. It is located 30 miles north of downtown San Diego in the San Pasqual Valley near Escondido, California.

Stephen Birch Acquarium

Explore where the wonders of the ocean come alive! The mission of Birch Aquarium is to provide ocean science education, to interpret Scripps Institution of Oceanography research, and to promote ocean conservation.


Feed the dolphins, learn about the habitat right off our coasts, get up close and personal with killer whales or watch the penguins play! SeaWorld San Diego - it just doesn't get any closer than this.


Located in Carlsbad about 20 minutes northeast of L'Auberge, Legoland® California is an interactive, hands-on theme park experience for families, with more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. It is also home to SEA LIFE Aquarium and the world's first LEGOLAND Water Park.

San Diego Breweries

Recently named America's "Craft Brew Capitol"; It's no surprise that San Diego takes pride in their craft beer! Spend a day (or two) discovering over 60 craft breweries and their award winning beers made in "America's Finest City".

Temecula Wine Tours

Just 45 minutes northeast of L'Auberge Del Mar, Temecula's rolling hills and boulder-strewn mountains are home to miles of fabulous vineyards. The serenity and beauty of the North County area, combined with a visit to Temecula's wineries, make this an informative and relaxing daytime getaway.

Balboa Park
