Winter Holidays By The Sea Created By L’Auberge Del Mar’s Culinary Team

DELICIOUSLY CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS EVE AND DAY AND NEW YEAR’S EVE AND DAY

Thursday, November 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For Thanksgiving, L’Auberge Del Mar throws a sensational all-day brunch for the whole family and their friends. To start the day in a celebratory way, there’s a Bloody Mary Bar and a Mimosa and Bellini Bar to accompany Eggs Your Way “from the pan,” Eggs Benedict and continental choices. There will be Butternut Squash Bisque and Mediterranean specialties such as Tabbouleh and Stuffed Grape LeavesChilled Gulf Shrimp is served along with sushi delights. The Carvery offers Roast Heritage Turkey and Oakwood-Smoked Sirloin of Beef with whiskey sauce, and there are Spinach Ricotta Agnolloti and Blackened Pork Loin. The Young Adult Menu pleases with pizzas, burgers and spaghetti and turkey meatballs. The Holiday Sweets include cheesecake, chocolate caramel tart and other favorites.

Christmas Eve Three-Course Dinner
Tuesday, December 24, from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Christmas Eve celebratory dinner at L’Auberge Del Mar begins with an Amuse Bouche of Baha Striped Bass Crudo and Pineapple Chorizo Vinaigrette. First Course options are Spot Prawn Soup; Lobster Ravioli with arugula blossom, caramelized fennel, pancetta and lemon espuma; or Roasted Baby Beet Salad with aged sherry vinaigrette. Intermezzo is Yuzu-Champagne Sorbet. The Main selections are Sea Scallops with chanterelle mushrooms, polenta and baby corn; Braised Short Rib of Beef with truffle demi-glace; Swordfish Oscar with Dungeness crab; or Ratatouille Farro Latkes with crème fraîche. The Sweet Course tempts with Pine Nut Tart topped with mascarpone chantilly, spiced caramel and Hawaiian sea salt or Vanilla Swiss Roll Cake with peppermint mousse and white chocolate.

L’Auberge Del Mar’s Christmas Day Buffet
Wednesday, December 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas Day at the sea starts out merry and bright with sips from the Bloody Mary Bar and Mimosa and Bellini Bar with fresh, squeezed orange juice and peach puree. Eggs Your Way gives choices of toppings and fillings such as havarti cheese, guacamole, mushrooms, ham and bacon. The Carvery’s star dish is the Roast Heritage Turkey with all the traditional fixings. Another savory choice is Char Siu BBQ Pork Loin with apple and pear compote, spicy mustard and bao buns. There are also soup, salads, antipasti and iced seafood. Holiday Sweets include pumpkin pie, chocolate caramel tart and other desserts. For the young ones are three-cheese pizza, crispy chicken tenders, mac & cheese and more.

New Year’s Eve Three-Course Festive Dinner
Tuesday, December 31, 7 p.m. first seating; 9 p.m. second seating
To welcome in 2020, guests savor a fine dinner on New Year’s Eve, starting with an Amuse Bouche trio of Kumamoto Oysters, Smoked Trout Roe with house potato chips and Sundried Tomato Tartelette with goat cheese mousse. Next, guests choose either Spot Prawn Soup with parsnip and blood orange, Porcini Risotto with black truffle or Winter Endives with chicory crumble. The delectable Main selections are Sea Scallops with chanterelle mushrooms, Côte de Boeuf with crispy sweetbreads and black garlic jus, Butter Poached Lobster Tail with Alaskan fingerling potato or Ratatouille Farro Latkes with tarragon vinaigrette. To end this lovely holiday repast the Sweets are Chocolate Macaron with vanilla crème patisserie, Raspberry Jam Crème Brûlée with chai tea and dark chocolate or Strawberries and Champagne with Victoria sponge cake and pink champagne sorbet.

L’Auberge Del Mar’s New Year’s Day Buffet
Wednesday, January 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A delicious New Year’s Day Brunch buffet begins with traditional Eggs Benedict, seasonal fruit, fresh baked muffins, Danishes, croissants and individual yogurt parfaits. For salad lovers, there are Winter Squash Panzanella with pomegranate vinaigretteBLT of chilled baby iceberg, candied bacon, heirloom tomato; and Point Reyes blue cheese and Ancient Grain Salad. Also, there will be Artisan Meats & California Cheeses and tabbouleh, roasted red pepper hummus and Mediterranean olives. Smoked Seafood features smoked salmon, black cod, smoked marinated mussels with traditional garnishes. The Carvery features Oakwood-Smoked Sirloin of Beef, and there will be Cedar Planked Salmon with ginger-sake glaze. Everyone will want to visit the Ramen Bar with add-ins such as edamame, pickled radish, baby corn and bonito flakes. To ensure a sweet new year, desserts are key lime pie and chocolate bread pudding. The kids will love three cheese and pepperoni pizza, spaghetti with turkey meatballs and marinara sauce and bacon cheeseburgers.
