Highlighting fresh Spring ingredients L’Auberge Del Mar’s Mother’s Day Brunch presents an array of foods to please the whole family. Live Action and Buffet Stations include: THE LIGHTER SIDE offering whole hand fruit, Muesli, breads and donuts. HOT BREAKFAST ITEMS feature Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon, an Omelet Station and Asparagus and White Cheddar Quiche. There will be SUSHI, CHEESE and SALAD STATIONS, as well as PASTA including Tomato and Basil Pomodoro and Corn and Lobster Risotto. And at the CARVED STATION, Roasted Pork Loin, Grist and Toll Polenta and Roasted Peaches, as well as Salt Crusted Baja Corvino Bass with dandelion chimichurri. BRUNCH ITEMS IN CAST IRONS include Wagyu Beef Short Ribs, Lemon Glazed Salmon and Chicken Schnitzel with herbed spätzle and Mélange of Spring Vegetables. PASTRY DISPLAY will celebrate moms with classic and retro cakes and pies: Black Out, Pineapple Upside Down, Carrot, NY Style Cheese and Toll House cakes and Key Lime, Grandma Dyson’s Derby, Shoo Fly, Peach, Chess, Coconut Cream and Lemon Meringue. In addition, the Interactive Dessert Station will feature warm-from-the-oven individual chocolate cakes with toppings – berries, whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate shavings and candied pecans. For mimosa lovers, the Mimosa Bar with fresh pressed juices and purees for mix-ins will be available.

Prix-Fixe Three-Course Menu for Mother’s Day at KITCHEN 1540

Sunday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chef Nathan Lingle has created a special menu to wow lucky mothers at KITCHEN 1540 on this very special day. First course selections are White and Green Asparagus Salad with poached quail egg, Vella jack and tarragon vinaigrette; Beet and Goat Cheese Salad, Yogurt and Granola Parfait, Sticky Bun with kumquat glaze; or Farm Truck Fruit Presentation. The next course presents choices of Tuna Nicoise with beans, olives, potato, egg, tomato and baby arugula with Mexican oregano vinaigrette; Corn and Lobster Risotto, Kimchi Benedict on Sonora wheat biscuit with pork belly; Lemon Ricotta Pancake with strawberry compote; Mushroom Torta; or Bacon and Spring Onion Quiche. The third delectable course offers Strawberry Rhubarb Tart with yogurt ice cream, Lavender Brûlée with almond crisp or Warm Chocolate Cake with farm truck fruit compote.
