DEL MAR, Calif. (July 17, 2019) – L’Auberge Del Mar’s signature restaurant KITCHEN 1540, helmed by Chef Christopher Carriker, has earned Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” in its annual Restaurant Awards competition for 2019 as selected by a specialized editorial team dedicated to the award selection process. To complement its Coastal California inspired cuisine, KITCHEN 1540 offers 225 wines from a diversified 2,500-bottle inventory with wine strengths as cited by Wine Spectator in selections from California and France, along with excellent choices from Champagne. More specifically, the list is a strong collection of renowned and interesting selections from California’s wine terroir vineyards in Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, Russian River, North Coast, Anderson, as well as selections from Oregon and Washington. Global offerings come from France, New Zealand, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Spain and Australia. For guests who may want to primarily sip wines by the glass, the list features 25 wines by the glass, as well as 12 half-bottle selections.


L’Auberge Del Mar’s recently appointed new executive chef Christopher Carriker, in charge of the property’s three venues, signature restaurant KITCHEN 1540, the Living Room’s Coastline Deck and Bleu Bar, is working with the beverage team to create dishes that will pair perfectly with the resort’s award-winning wine list.
