Fuel the Frontline
At L’Auberge Del Mar, we recognize how difficult it must be for healthcare workers and first responders to work in a dangerous environment every day, putting their health at risk in order to save others. Fuel the Frontline San Diego offers hope that our local community can, and will, fight through these difficult times together. In collaboration with the Del Mar Village Association, we’ve donated 60 meals to the Scripps Green Hospital to help the Fuel the Frontline initiative. L’Auberge Del Mar is Strawless
In an effort to reduce waste and to keep our oceans clean and free from plastic and trash, L’Auberge Del Mar will only offer straws to our guests upon request.
Climate Change & Resilience
At L’Auberge Del Mar we are happy to offer complimentary bikes for usage to our guests. Bicycle riding uses minimal fossil fuels and is a pollution-free mode of transport. It conserves roadway and residential space, thereby providing opportunities for less concrete and more plant life in urban areas.
Fresh Food Locally Sourced
The Food & Beverage Department is guided by the principles of sustainability. Local produce and sustainable seafood are prepared and served daily. The kitchen is equipped with 100% recycled vinyl/pvc flooring, energy efficient lighting and earth friendly equipment and our to-go boxes are biodegradable.
Our Organic Spa
Spa L’Auberge prides itself on the use of organic products. Most of the products used in treatments and carried in the retail store are organic.
We run a Recycling Program and Linen Reuse Program in our guestrooms. All guestrooms use energy efficient light bulbs to reduce the impact of depleting energy sources.
Health Safety & Wellbeing
At L’Auberge Del Mar the health, safety and wellbeing of our guest and team members is of the utmost importance. Our property is a member of both the American Hotel and Lodging Association and the California Hotel and Lodging Association. REACT mobile is a protocol in place to ensure our team members are always safe while at work. “Get help where you need it fast. Our staff is taught green standards during orientation. We provide recycling bins in every department to recycle bottles, cans and paper. Throughout the year the hotel holds environmentally focused events like an Earth Day Oceanic Preservation Paddle-Out.
Diversity & Inclusion
In addition to the Diversity and Inclusion compliance training on VENZA, our team on property has an Engagement Committee that focuses on several areas, including recognition and engagement for all employees. This team works to create an inclusive culture at L’Auberge Del Mar with in-house events, luncheons, and celebrations of different cultural holidays.
At L’Auberge Del Mar we partner with several organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Charities San Diego, Susan G. Komen and The San Diego Surfrider Foundation. Our team regularly volunteers and donates time, space, and support to these ongoing efforts and initiatives to improve the community.
