L’AUBERGE DEL MAR NEWS RELEASE

L’Auberge Del Mar Celebrates 30 Years Of Oceanfront Hospitality

ANNIVERSARY PLANS INCLUDE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION AND PEARL-THEMED PACKAGES, AMENITIES

Del Mar – Poised to celebrate its 30th anniversary, L’Auberge Del Mar, the Village of Del Mar’s chic centerpiece hotel, opened its doors on July 28, 1989, to great acclaim. Since then, the 121-room resort has garnered many accolades, undergone multiple renovations – including a major transformation in 2008 – and emerged as the largest single source of net revenue for the city of Del Mar.

It all started when entrepreneur/developer and visionary Jim Watkins – still today an active proponent of Del Mar as a destination for locals and visitors alike – orchestrated a rebirth of the oceanfront village in 1989. Watkins’ centerpiece project was The Inn at L’Auberge Del Mar, which was constructed on a 5.2-acre site overlooking the Pacific. Ultimately fueling a Del Mar renaissance, the hotel was designed to re-envision the 1940’s glamor of this appealing seaside town with a slight European flavor as seen in the chateau-like architecture.

Now, on the heels of a recent refurbishment program of the guestrooms, meeting spaces and select public areas by noted Los Angeles interior designer Barclay Butera, L’Auberge Del Mar is ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary in style. According to Bob Harter, director of sales and marketing for L’Auberge Del Mar, the resort is commemorating this significant anniversary with a series of pearl-themed events, packages and amenities. “Taking a cue from the traditional 30th anniversary gift of pearls, we’ve created luxury pearl-themed experiences to observe this important milestone throughout the rest of the year,” he added.

L’Auberge Del Mar’s 30th anniversary celebrations include:
