L’AUBERGE DEL MAR NEWS RELEASE

Unveils New Updated Guestrooms

REIMAGINED GUESTROOMS EVOKE COASTAL CHIC

SAN DIEGO – The 121 guest rooms at L’Auberge Del Mar, located in San Diego’s coastal North County region, have emerged with a fresh new contemporary look masterminded by renowned Los Angeles interior designer Barclay Butera.

According to Bob Harter, director of sales and marketing for L’Auberge Del Mar, the room renovations are part of a recently completed refurbishment program, which also impacts meeting spaces and select public areas. “All our latest upgrades are taking a cue from the surrounding surf, sand and sun,” he added.

Providing an inspired take on the hotel’s oceanfront location, the new guest rooms have been redone with Butera’s characteristic modern beach flair – marked by clean, transitional “coastal chic” decor.

According to Butera, who first redid the resort in 2008, each guestroom now sports a calming backdrop of crisp whites and subdued neutrals accented by fresh beach colors such ocean blue, sea glass greens and soft sand hues. The striking palette sets the stage for layered details with a mix of textures such as infused damask prints, pattern wallcovering, handsome stripe-style carpeting and custom bedding. A mix of contemporary with traditional detailing in the furnishings, bold contemporary artwork, bright white wood cabinetry and bright new lighting throughout, all enhance the serene setting. Subtle geometric accents boost visual interest, while dark wood furnishings ground each room. Oversized accent pillows provide bold pops of color and pattern while natural fine touches such as seashells and coral further the surf feel.

The end result, said Butera: a comfortable and appealing environment which oozes West Coast chic. “After a long day at the beach, guests can come home to an inviting and beautifully appointed space,” he said. “We are thrilled and honored to have worked with L’Auberge Del Mar on this project, which evokes our unique brand of sophisticated coastal style.”

The room redos come on the heels of a recently announced partnership with acclaimed artist Aaron Chang, a photographer known for his colorful and dynamic surf and ocean images who is showcasing some of his most compelling works throughout the resort. Furthering the resort’s beachy appeal is a live TV feed of the Pacific Ocean which welcomes guests and anchors the lobby’s front desk area.

L’Auberge Del Mar Celebrates 30 Years Of Oceanfront Hospitality

L’AUBERGE DEL MAR NEWS RELEASE

L’Auberge Del Mar Celebrates 30 Years Of Oceanfront Hospitality

ANNIVERSARY PLANS INCLUDE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION AND PEARL-THEMED PACKAGES, AMENITIES

Del Mar – Poised to celebrate its 30th anniversary, L’Auberge Del Mar, the Village of Del Mar’s chic centerpiece hotel, opened its doors on July 28, 1989, to great acclaim. Since then, the 121-room resort has garnered many accolades, undergone multiple renovations – including a major transformation in 2008 – and emerged as the largest single source of net revenue for the city of Del Mar.

It all started when entrepreneur/developer and visionary Jim Watkins – still today an active proponent of Del Mar as a destination for locals and visitors alike – orchestrated a rebirth of the oceanfront village in 1989. Watkins’ centerpiece project was The Inn at L’Auberge Del Mar, which was constructed on a 5.2-acre site overlooking the Pacific. Ultimately fueling a Del Mar renaissance, the hotel was designed to re-envision the 1940’s glamor of this appealing seaside town with a slight European flavor as seen in the chateau-like architecture.

Now, on the heels of a recent refurbishment program of the guestrooms, meeting spaces and select public areas by noted Los Angeles interior designer Barclay Butera, L’Auberge Del Mar is ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary in style. According to Bob Harter, director of sales and marketing for L’Auberge Del Mar, the resort is commemorating this significant anniversary with a series of pearl-themed events, packages and amenities. “Taking a cue from the traditional 30th anniversary gift of pearls, we’ve created luxury pearl-themed experiences to observe this important milestone throughout the rest of the year,” he added.

L’Auberge Del Mar’s 30th anniversary celebrations include:

30th Anniversary Party

Noble House Hotels & Resorts Adds L’Auberge Del Mar To Growing Luxury, West Coast Portfolio

L’AUBERGE DEL MAR NEWS RELEASE

Noble House Hotels & Resorts Adds L’Auberge Del Mar To Growing Luxury, West Coast Portfolio

SEATTLE, WA (May 1, 2019) – Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Ltd., a hotel ownership and management group with an upscale portfolio of 20 distinct and visually captivating properties spanning the U.S., announced today that it will assume management of L’Auberge Del Mar, the stylish, coastal estate offering relaxed luxury located in the heart of the quaint beach village of Del Mar in San Diego’s North County.  The boutique resort, owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, is the latest addition to Noble House Hotels & Resorts’ expansion of its roster of premier properties throughout the United States and Canada and is the second to be added in the last twelve months, including the recent opening of The Josie Hotel.  A property laden with history and engrained with its local community, L’Auberge is a natural fit for the private management company known for its expertise in managing independent luxury properties.

“We’re thrilled to begin working with L’Auberge Del Mar and celebrate the property as a special destination rich with history in Southern California,” said Pat Colee, Noble House founder and chairman of the board.  “The hotel has established a really strong connection with its local community over the past 30 years.  We look forward to continuing to build upon that and its reputation for delivering outstanding, memorable experiences.”

L’Auberge Del Mar is a luxury California beach resort resting on over five acres of gracefully landscaped grounds with a private pathway to the pristine beach of Del Mar.  The AAA Four Diamond award-winning resort offers guests the experience of an authentic Southern California lifestyle with an open-air living room, relaxed and stylish decor, destination-style activities and genuine, warm hospitality.  Overlooking the beautiful Pacific Coast, the resort offers 121 deluxe guestrooms including seven well-appointed suites, offering stunning property and coastal views.

The history of L’Auberge Del Mar ties deep down to its location, situated on the historic site of The Stratford Inn near San Diego.  Built in 1910, the Inn and later the Hotel Del Mar, was a hot spot for Hollywood celebrities looking for an escape as well as many Southern California locals.  The resort was the perfect getaway while visiting Bing Crosby and Pat O’Brien’s brand new Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack. Celebrities such as Lucy and Desi Arnaz, and Jimmy Durante were often found roaming the beautiful grounds of the resort.  During World War II, the beachside hotel opened its doors to soldiers and their families, but post war saw the hotel fall into disrepair and it was eventually demolished in 1969.  In 1985, coinciding with Del Mar’s centennial, local resident, Jim Watkins, purchased the property and rebuilt the hotel.  In 1989, it re-opened its doors as the L’Auberge Del Mar.

Since 1989, L’Auberge Del Mar has undergone many changes including a $25 million renovation in 2008 and again in 2017.  L’Auberge Del Mar is the home to the original Opening Day After-Party, as well as many other community events throughout the year and remains to be the centerpiece of the Del Mar Village. Noble House, which focuses on creating destinations that emphasize location, distinction and soul, will continue evolving the property’s rich history and reputation within the community.

The resort is home to several acclaimed culinary experiences spotlighting local produce and sustainable seafood, each with their own list of awards from publications such as Wine Spectator, USA Today and Zagat.  KITCHEN 1540, the resort’s signature open-kitchen restaurant, focuses on locally-sourced ingredients that capture bright, seasonal tastes of the area.  Coastline Restaurant boasts amazing views of the Pacific Ocean while presenting guests with local favorites with a twist in a fun and casual atmosphere.  Bleu Bar is the perfect spot to soak in the vista and enjoy a beverage next to one of the cozy outdoor firepits.  The Living Room Bar is a popular gathering space for locals and visitors alike with live bands preforming on Friday and Saturday nights.

Spa L’Auberge, named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 spas in the U.S., is the perfect combination of relaxation and renewal with a focus on the healing powers of the ocean.  Offering personalized treatments and luxurious services provided by highly trained professionals, Spa L’Auberge at L’Auberge Del Mar pampers guests from head to toe.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of L’Auberge Del Mar and the resort is commemorating the significant milestone with a series of pearl-themed events, packages and amenities.  To kick off the celebration, L’Auberge Del Mar is hosting a ribbon cutting event, followed by an open-house anniversary party on Friday, May 3 from 6:30 – 10 PM with craft cocktails, bites and live music on the Sunset Terrace.  Additionally, the Living Room Bar has created a Pearl ’89 Cocktail with Moet Chandon, Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin, Elderflower Tonic, Giffard Pamplemousse and Lemon Juice.  Spa L’Auberge has developed a Pearl Radiance Facial that will oxygenate, brighten and tone skin leaving an illuminating, effervescent pearly glow.  The celebratory Pearl Luxury Escape package includes luxurious overnight accommodations, $150 Spa L’Auberge credit, $150 dining credit, complimentary valet parking and L’Auberge Del Mar’s exclusive Signature Coastal Laurel scented sticks as a takeaway gift.  The Pearl Luxury Escape package is available to book now through December 31, 2019 and starts at $465 per night.  To reserve, please call (800) 245-9757 or visit www.laubergedelmar.com, the property’s new web address as of today, May 1, 2019.
